Job Description

Performs a combination of manual and clerical shipping and receiving duties; may work out of a central warehouse. Uses a computer system for tracking, logging, verifying, and reporting. Follows shipping practices and procedures, and transportation routing, schedules and requirements. Receives incoming materials or prepares materials for shipment. (Un)packs or (un)wraps items such as finished products, raw stock, assemblies, parts, building materials, office supplies, equipment, etc. Verifies quantity, weight, and conformance of materials to stated identifications; logs receipt of items on system, processes freight bills, packing sheets, and other documents; reports materials shipped and bills of lading; posts weight and shipping charges and routes merchandise to destinations.

Job Responsibilities:

  • Follows shipping practices and procedures, and transportation routing, schedules, and requirements
  • Receives incoming materials or prepares materials for shipment
  • (Un)packs or (un)wraps items such as finished products, raw stock, assemblies, parts, building materials, office supplies, equipment, etc.
  • Verifies quantity, weight, and conformance of materials to stated identifications; logs receipt of items on system, processes freight bills, packing sheets, and other documents; reports materials shipped and bills of lading; posts weight and shipping charges, and routes merchandise to destinations.

Basic Qualifications:

   Level 2:

  • High School diploma or equivalent and 2 years additional education and/or related experience
  • Ability to organize and prioritize workload to meet deadlines
  • Must be detail-oriented and have good communication skills
  • Strong interpersonal, organizational, and problem-solving skills
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office skills
  • Valid US Driver’s License
  • Ability to stand for up to 9 hours per day
  • Ability to repetitively lift 50 pounds throughout the day
  • Ability to work in a dynamic and fast paced environment

 Level 3:

  • All level 2 requirements
  • High school diploma or equivalent and 5 years additional education and/or related experience in manufacturing/defense
  • Working knowledge of SAP
  • Experience utilizing DoD forms such as DD form 1149
  • 3 years of forklift and/or hand truck experience

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Prior experience with DD Form 1149
  • Working knowledge of SAP
  • Experienced/Certified user of a forklift and/or hand truck

Primary Level Salary Range: $41,300.00 - $68,900.00Secondary Level Salary Range: $49,100.00 - $81,800.00

The above salary range represents a general guideline; however, Northrop Grumman considers a number of factors when determining base salary offers such as the scope and responsibilities of the position and the candidate's experience, education, skills and current market conditions.

Depending on the position, employees may be eligible for overtime, shift differential, and a discretionary bonus in addition to base pay. Annual bonuses are designed to reward individual contributions as well as allow employees to share in company results. Employees in Vice President or Director positions may be eligible for Long Term Incentives. In addition, Northrop Grumman provides a variety of benefits including health insurance coverage, life and disability insurance, savings plan, Company paid holidays and paid time off (PTO) for vacation and/or personal business.
