Job DetailsJob Location: Madison - Madison, WI 53704Position Type: Full TimeSalary Range: $20.00 - $21.00 HourlyJob Shift: DaySummary The Warehouse Associate assists the Production Supervisor with the initial sorting and processing of equipment that is received in the warehouse. They are a member of the Inventory Team which is responsible for four primary areas: Efficient and controlled receipt of inventory Appropriate sorting and staging of inventory for processing Accurate recording and tracking of inventory in accordance with Sage and customer requirements Training and assisting other staff to support these activities. Essential Functions Understand and uphold company policies, as well as maintain competency in the procedures, work instructions, and other documentation required for safely, effectively, and correctly performing the duties specified below Efficiently control and manage the receipt of inventory at Sage Unload trucks and assist Sage drivers and customers with drop-off of equipment at Sage Operate hand trucks safely Adhere to and enforce Visitor Access Policy Weigh and label equipment Stage equipment in the receiving and inventory areas Maintain order and cleanliness in the receiving and inventory areas Accurately record and track inventory Count inventory and record information in appropriate job in database Record serial numbers and other component information when required by customer Accurately identify and label inventory Appropriately sort and stage inventory for processing Identify, categorize, and sort equipment for testing or disassembly Consult with other staff to aid in the identification of equipment for sorting Stage inventory for processing using first-in, first-out inventory (FIFO) management system Consult with Inventory Coordinator to organize the staging and processing of inventory Help and assist other staff to support receiving activities Assist coworkers with safe inventory handling and lifting Assist, direct, and check employees on accuracy in data entry in database and in matching labels to inventory Provide input to Production Supervisor related to performance or process improvement Encourage employees to work in a safe and efficient manner General warehouse upkeep Maintain overall cleanliness of the receiving area by ensuring all common areas are swept Maintain 5S and cleanliness at workstations Maintain commodities and bins in an orderly fashion Verify that scales are taking accurate measures Keep aisles clear Perform other duties as assigned Additional Elective Functions: In addition to essential functions, the Warehouse Associate will assist with disassembly, refurbishing, and other tasks when directed by the Production Supervisor Disassembly and Warehouse Duties Maintain a clean and safe working environment Identify and use all necessary hand tools and equipment required for the disassembly of equipment Identify and stage different types of NCE Identify all commodity streams and separate them appropriately Sort, weigh, and stack equipment properly Identify and report/rectify warehouse safety hazards Acquire and maintain Forklift Certification Production (competencies include problem solving, technical skills) Test equipment and record diagnostic information about equipment Wipe electronic storage devices using Sage’s data wiping software Perform basic repair and upgrades of equipment Stage and prepare processed equipment for shipment Qualifications Skill and ability as a proven team member with a high level of integrity Strong attention to detail required Experience with inventory and inventory concepts preferred Experience with inventory, testing, shipping and demanufacturing of electronics Proficiency with using computers to aid in activities, including use of database, email, Internet, Microsoft Word and Excel, and other applications required Proficiency with troubleshooting computer hardware a plus Forklift certification a plus Ability to self-motivate in order to accomplish tasks accurately and on time Ability to work well in a collaborative environment Flexibility and capability to work on a variety of tasks Ability to adapt to change Knowledge of and experience with quality management and process improvement systems preferred Forklift certification a plus PHYSICAL DEMANDS AND WORK ENVIRONMENT: Physical demands and work environment characteristics described here are representative of those that must be met by an employee to successfully perform the essential functions of this job. Physical Demands: This is a job done while standing and working on a surface that is at least 30 inches off the floor for long periods of time. The essential tools used are screwdrivers (electric and manual), pliers, dollies, laundry carts, and wire cutters. Essential pieces of warehouse equipment used are balers, pallet jack, floor scales and forklifts. Associates are expected to meet or exceed performance standards within the first three months of employment. The equipment handled varies in weight and size. This job requires regular lifting of electronic devices weighing up to 50 lbs and/or bending and lifting equipment from the floor or vehicles. Items weighing more than 50 lbs are lifted with the help of a second technician. Work Environment: While performing the duties of this job, the employee is exposed to various customer locations and on site requirements, dust, moderate noise levels and will be required to use personal protective equipment.
