Alter Trading Corporation Company, privately held company with several scrap metal processing facilities throughout the Midwest and Southern region, is searching for a Maintenance/Welder on day shift at its Madison, WI. This position will be responsible for basic repairs such as performing work on conveyors, changing motor boxes, changing bearings and stick welding
Hours:Â Monday through Friday 6:30am - 4:30pm. Saturday possible based on operational needs.
Summary:
· The Maintenance/Welder position operates welding equipment and assists with general maintenance needs.
- Welds/repairs trailers, roll-off containers and lugger containers.
- Repairs shredder, conveyors and other machinery as needed.
- May include fabrication duties.
- Assists the maintenance department with preventative maintenance and repairs as needed.
- Operates equipment as needed.
- Other responsibilities as assigned.
Safety:
Wears all necessary PPE when working in the yard. Follows company safety standards at all times.
Requirements:
· Must be able to lift a minimum of 30 – 50 pounds.
· Welding (stick) and fabricating skills are required
PAY RATE:

Experience level:
- 2-3 years welding experience
- 2-3 years preventative maintenance experience
- Ability to perform work on  conveyors, motor boxes and bearings
