At Boone Memorial Hospital, our Respiratory Therapists play a critical role in patient care—supporting everything from emergency response to long-term pulmonary treatment. Essential Functions As a Respiratory Therapist, you’ll provide essential cardiopulmonary care in an inpatient hospital setting while working closely with physicians and the healthcare team. Perform cardiopulmonary evaluations and deliver respiratory therapy treatments Set up, operate, and maintain oxygen therapy and inhalation equipment Administer therapies including aerosol treatments, chest physiotherapy, and incentive spirometry Manage BiPAP/CPAP therapy and airway care Perform arterial blood gas draws and pulmonary function testing Conduct EKGs and six-minute walk tests Assist with pulmonary rehabilitation programs Respond to emergencies, including performing CPR Maintain accurate patient documentation in electronic health records Clean, maintain, and troubleshoot respiratory equipment Provide education to patients, families, and staff Participate in quality assurance and follow all safety and infection control protocols Skills  Strong clinical knowledge in respiratory care and cardiopulmonary procedures Excellent communication and patient care skills Ability to stay calm and think critically in high-pressure situations Strong attention to detail and organizational skills Team-oriented with the ability to work independently when needed Competencies  Radial artery blood gas. Acapella Chest Physiotherapy. Pulmonary Rehabilitation/Pulmonary Function. Mechanical Ventilation. Pulmonary Function Testing. Home Sleep Study. Qualifications Associate Degree in Respiratory Therapy (CoARC accredited) RRT or CRT credential (required) Active West Virginia Respiratory Care License Pediatric Advanced Life Support (PALS) preferred Minimum of 6 months direct patient care experience (preferred) Cardiopulmonary experience (preferred) Physical Requirements This is an active, hands-on clinical role.
