Job Summary

The Field Operations Assistant supports both construction and landscape operations across multiple project sites. This role is responsible for maintaining job site conditions, assisting with construction punch-out tasks, performing landscaping and irrigation activities, operating equipment, and ensuring compliance with safety and quality standards.

This position requires frequent travel between properties, hands-on fieldwork, and collaboration with Project Managers to report progress and ensure the timely completion of assigned tasks.

This is an outdoor, physically active role that plays a critical part in maintaining construction quality and site readiness. The Field Operations Assistant reports to the Development Project Manager.


Key Responsibilities:

  • Monitors job sites to ensure cleanliness, organization, and safety compliance
  • Completes punch-out tasks and minor repairs for new residential projects
  • Conducts safety inspections and completes detailed safety checklists
  • Ensures equipment is compliant, maintained, and clean
  • Assists with onsite inspections and acts as a field representative when needed
  • Coordinates and confirms completion of assigned work as directed by the manager
  • Reviews and reports daily field activity to the manager
  • Performs landscaping tasks including mowing, trimming, grading, and general maintenance
  • Assists with irrigation setup, repair, and maintenance 
  • Conducts post-construction cleanup and site preparation
  • Supports erosion control and site stabilization efforts as needed
  • Safely drives and operates company vehicles, including a pickup truck with a gooseneck trailer, transporting tractors, skid steers, and related equipment, to and from work sites
  • Follows all company safety guidelines and industry best practices at all times
  • Performs other duties, tasks, and responsibilities as assigned by management to support organizational goals and objectives


Qualifications & Requirements:

  • Valid Texas driver’s license with acceptable driving record
  • Ability to operate hand tools, power tools, and heavy equipment
  • Ability to lift up to 50 pounds and perform physically demanding tasks
  • Ability to work outdoors in varying weather conditions
  • Strong attention to detail and commitment to safety standards
  • Excellent organizational, communication, and interpersonal skills
  • Willingness to travel between multiple job sites
  • Punctual, dependable, and able to work independently or as part of a team
  • Willingness to learn new skills and take on additional responsibilities


Education & Experience:

  • High School Diploma (or equivalent)
  • 3-5 years of related experience preferred (construction, landscaping, irrigation, or field operations)
  • Experience with erosion control or irrigation systems is a plus
