Satterfield & Pontikes is seeking a General Superintendent to join our team. In this role, you will serve as a senior operational leader responsible for overseeing multiple field teams, projects, and business unit operations to ensure consistent, high-performing project execution aligned with company standards. You will play a critical role in pre-planning, workforce development, scheduling, production tracking, safety, quality control, and operational excellence while partnering closely with Project Executives, Operations Leadership, and Project Teams. The ideal candidate will be an experienced field leader with a strong background in large-scale commercial construction and a passion for mentoring and developing future construction leaders.

Essential Job Functions
- Ensure compliance with company systems, procedures, and operational standards while providing guidance and training to project teams
- Assist with development and execution of Business Unit Plans, revenue forecasts, and staffing schedules
- Review subcontractor scopes of work during the buyout process
- Assist with project pre-planning efforts and CPM schedule development
- Participate in project startup meetings and Owner Preconstruction Conferences
- Evaluate construction methodologies, sequencing plans, and project phasing strategies
- Assist project teams in identifying, mitigating, and resolving construction-related issues
- Monitor CPM schedule updates, sequencing plans, submittal status, material procurement, and production performance
- Support the development and implementation of trade-specific tracking and reporting tools
- Monitor Quality Control Program implementation and documentation to ensure compliance with company standards and contract requirements
- Participate in Monthly Margin Analysis meetings and Third Point Reviews
- Monitor project safety planning, execution, documentation, and compliance efforts
- Assist project teams and Safety Leadership with enforcement of safety policies, procedures, and regulatory requirements
- Support change management efforts, including schedule impact assessments and CPM schedule revisions
- Assist with subcontractor claim resolution and back-charge management
- Organize and lead monthly Superintendent meetings focused on safety, operations, and best practices
- Establish and maintain strong client and stakeholder relationships
- Lead recruiting, training, performance management, and development efforts for field personnel
- Identify, mentor, and develop talent for key leadership positions
- Create collaborative, cross-functional teams that promote problem-solving and operational excellence
- Conduct performance discussions and support employee development initiatives
- Perform other duties as assigned
Required Skills and Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Construction Management, Engineering, or a related construction field required
- 10+ years of experience as a Superintendent in commercial construction
- Extensive experience in scheduling, field supervision, quality control, and production management across all phases of construction
- Strong knowledge of CPM scheduling and project planning methodologies
- Proven ability to oversee multiple projects and field teams simultaneously
- Demonstrated leadership experience developing and mentoring construction professionals
- Strong understanding of construction safety regulations, quality management, and operational best practices
- Experience managing subcontractors, vendors, and project stakeholders
- Ability to lead operational initiatives and drive continuous improvement
Physical Activities and Requirements
- Regular walking, standing, and movement throughout active construction sites
- Ability to traverse and inspect all areas of a project site in varying weather and jobsite conditions
- Frequent climbing, reaching, bending, crawling, stretching, and other physical activities associated with field operations
- Occasional office-based work and extended computer usage
- Occasional heavy lifting (=50 lbs./=22.7 + kg) can be expected, though exertion of up to 10lbs of force is more common
- Strong manual dexterity for operating computers, mobile devices, and standard office equipment
