Foster Home Developer Job Description

RESPONSIBILITIES:

Recruitment of new foster & adoptive families

  • Ensure Home Studies and Addendums are in file and match families licenses.
  • Community presentations on Houston Strong services
  • Field inquiries from potential foster/adoptive caregivers
  • Obtain all information and paperwork pertaining to the Licensing and Verification of a foster family or respite provider
  • Maintain records of all Fire and Health inspectors
  • Schedule all training for families within Houston Strong, re-service and all on-going trainings
  • Maintain completion of and accuracy of all foster family files in compliance with auditing entities.
  • Track all criminal requests of all foster families, respite providers, employees, and contractors.
  • Assemble foster family and respite provider’s information packets.
  • Conduct all references on all potential foster families and respite providers.
  • Maintain foster family and respite providers expiration dates.
  • Maintain the foster family and respite providers directory meaning current foster family, potential foster families and those in the process
  • Maintain the foster family and respite provider deficiency list.
  • Maintain a weekly status report of incoming families
  • Maintain a monthly status report of all current foster families and respite providers.
  • Assist the case managers in securing respite providers, alternative and substitute care for the foster families as needed.
  • And other special projects as assigned by CPMS or the Executive Director.
  • Perform all foster/adoptive home records and ensure audit readiness continually.
  • Develop training schedule and coordinate with Trainer and Office Manager

QUALIFICATIONS:

  • High School Diploma and 2 years of Child Care experience required
  • Excellent writing skills
  • Excellent communication skills/People Person
  • Organizational skills
  • Relationship development skills
  • Knowledge and interest in family dynamics and foster parenting
