Summary:

The Project Controls Specialist will assist the Project Managers in all project control duties on assigned projects, including reporting, cost control, estimating, scheduling, project accounting, project closeout and other support activities as needed. The ideal candidate will be highly proficient in project cost control and analysis with demonstrable experience in project planning and scheduling.


Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Initiate and build projects in ERP system as well as drive demand for manufacturing and procurement activities.
  • Ability to review contracts, proposals and scope of work to understand project requirements
  • Create and maintain work and cost break down structures
  • Project cost control (budgets, change orders, forecasting)
  • Initiate milestone tracker and produce certificates for invoicing
  • Develop and maintain detailed project schedules
  • Implement and maintain an earned value progress measurement system (Progress S-curves with graphs and charts)
  • Create and/or support monthly and weekly reports
  • Support internal and external meetings and publish meeting minutes as required
  • Maintain/support an action item register if required
  • Maintain an MOC Log and generate/steward change orders where required
  • Generate contract closeout reports
  • All other duties as assigned
  • Work is in office in Houston, TX. Not remote.


Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree or equivalent experience in a similar position
  • Subsea Equipment knowledge is a bonus
  • Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Project, Excel, and ERP systems (preferably IFS but similar systems is a bonus as well)
  • Proficiency in MS PowerPoint and Word
  • Excellent communication skills
  • Ability to meet deadlines under pressure
  • Ability to Influence others through cooperation and teamwork
  • Open-minded with a strong customer orientation.
  • Self-motivated, independent, proactive, and able to take initiative
  • Creative and systematic, taking ideas to final result
  • Ability and willingness to work with company affiliates internationally
