Description

Due to growth, Satterfield & Pontikes is looking to add a Superintendent to our team. In this role, you will serve as an experienced field leader responsible for managing daily construction activities, coordinating subcontractors, and maintaining jobsite safety, quality, and production. Typically overseeing a single project, a major phase of a larger project, or a defined scope of work, you will be the primary field contact responsible for ensuring work is completed safely, on schedule, within budget, and to specification. The ideal candidate will be a proactive leader who excels at field coordination, problem-solving, and building strong relationships with project teams and trade partners.

Essential Job Functions

  • Maintain and enforce jobsite safety standards, including safety planning, execution, and documentation
  • Review and approve safety documentation and daily field reports
  • Lead project planning efforts and support the development and execution of pre-job plans
  • Determine construction methods and sequencing to support successful project execution
  • Develop and maintain Site Utilization Plans
  • Review monthly subcontractor pay applications to verify progress aligns with completed work
  • Expedite vendors and subcontractors to maintain project schedules and productivity goals
  • Identify and resolve field issues proactively to prevent schedule impacts
  • Coordinate equipment requirements with Project Managers
  • Conduct weekly subcontractor coordination meetings with field supervision teams
  • Participate in the development and maintenance of CPM schedules, including baseline schedules, schedule updates and narratives
  • Manage the project Quality Control Program (SPQP) and ensure compliance with contract requirements and specifications
  • Maintain accurate labor, timekeeping, and cost records
  • Ensure compliance with all jobsite reporting requirements, including daily reports, SOS documentation, weekly unit reports, and two-week look-ahead schedules
  • Maintain a clean, organized, and professional jobsite environment
  • Foster positive working relationships with clients, subcontractors, vendors, and internal project teams
  • Mentor and support field personnel while promoting operational excellence
  • Perform other duties as assigned


Required Skills and Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Construction Management, Architecture, or equivalent industry experience
  • 5+ years of experience in the construction industry
  • Two or more years of experience in a leadership role
  • Strong knowledge of construction practices, scheduling, safety, and quality control
  • Experience coordinating subcontractors, vendors, and field personnel
  • Proficiency with CPM scheduling concepts and project planning
  • Ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced construction environment
  • Strong organizational skills and attention to detail
  • Commitment to safety, quality, and client satisfaction


Physical Activities and Requirements

  • Regular walking, standing, and movement throughout active construction sites
  • Ability to traverse and inspect all areas of a project site in varying weather and jobsite conditions
  • Frequent climbing, reaching, bending, crawling, stretching, and other physical activities associated with field operations
  • Occasional office-based work and computer usage
  • Occasional lifting of 50 pounds or more
  • Strong manual dexterity for operating computers, mobile devices, and standard office equipment
