Summary
The Jack & Slide Supervisor is responsible for planning, coordinating, and overseeing the safe movement, loading, unloading, and positioning of heavy midstream natural gas equipment skids. This role leads manufacturing bay and yard operations involving hydraulic jacking systems, skid tracks, heavy machine skates, transport interfaces, and specialized rigging equipment. The supervisor ensures all work is executed safely, efficiently, and in accordance with engineered lift and transport plans, company standards, and customer requirements.
Principle Responsibilities and Duties
Operations Management
- Supervise all jack-and-slide operations involving heavy equipment and midstream natural gas equipment skids.
- Coordinate equipment loading, unloading, skidding, positioning, and final placement.
- Manage hydraulic jacking systems, skid tracks, cribbing, rollers, and associated rigging equipment.
- Verify equipment weights, dimensions, center of gravity locations, and load paths prior to execution.
- Ensure proper setup and inspection of all lifting and rigging equipment.
Safety Leadership
- Promote a strong safety culture and ensure compliance with OSHA, company, and customer safety requirements.
- Conduct pre-job planning meetings, Job Safety Analyses (JSAs), and daily toolbox talks.
- Monitor work activities to identify and mitigate hazards.
- Stop work when unsafe conditions exist and implement corrective actions.
- Participate in incident investigations and corrective action development.
Execution & Planning
- Read and interpret engineered lift plans, rigging drawings, transport plans, fabrication drawings, and site layouts.
- Coordinate with Manufacturing Planning Team, Assembly Supervisors, Project Managers, Project Engineers, crane operators, transport providers, and customer representatives.
- Verify operation sequencing and equipment clearances before work begins.
- Maintain accurate records of equipment movements, inspections, and daily activities.

Team Leadership
- Direct, mentor, and train riggers, operators, and assigned personnel.
- Assign work responsibilities and monitor crew performance.
- Ensure team members understand job scope, safety expectations, and operational procedures.
- Support workforce development through coaching and technical training.
Equipment & Asset Management
- Oversee inspections and maintenance of hydraulic jacking systems and rigging equipment.
- Ensure equipment certifications and inspections remain current.
- Coordinate equipment mobilization and demobilization activities.
- Monitor equipment inventory and replacement needs.
Qualifications
Experience
- Minimum 5 years of experience in heavy rigging, lifting, transportation, or jack-and-slide operations.
- Minimum 2 years of supervisory or crew leadership experience.
- Experience in oil and gas, heavy industrial manufacturing, modular fabrication, or construction environments preferred.
- Experience handling large oil and gas equipment and modular skid packages.
Technical Knowledge
Strong understanding of:
- Rigging principles
- Load weight calculations

Required
- NCCCO Rigger Level II Certification
- NCCCO Signalperson Certification
- OSHA 30-Hour Construction or General Industry Training
- Current CPR/First Aid Certification
- Valid Driver's License
Preferred
- API RP 2D Rigger Certification
- PEC SafeLand USA
- Class A CDL

Physical Requirements
Industrial environment. Many tasks have high degrees of time sensitivity. Work is performed in both office and industrial manufacturing environments. Regular exposure to moving machinery, noise, varying temperatures, and industrial hazards. Must be available for emergency call-outs and support during off-hours as needed.
