Join a growing, fast-paced food processing facility where your technical expertise keeps our operation running safely and efficiently. 聽We鈥檙e looking for an experienced Plant Maintenance Technician to support daily maintenance needs, troubleshoot equipment issues, and help drive continuous improvement across the facility. 聽
Work Schedule: 聽Monday - Friday, rotating weekends, 10:00 p.m. - 6:00 a.m. 聽
Summary聽
Applies technical knowledge required to troubleshoot, repair, install, disassemble or overhaul a variety of complex equipment. The skill level for this position requires an individual to work independently and collaboratively on equipment and systems with minimal instruction and direction.聽
Duties and Responsibilities 聽
Essential Functions
Troubleshoots, repairs, installs, disassembles, overhauls and replaces machinery and equipment based on work order request or verbal instructions.
- Provide electrical, mechanical and technical support to ensure safe and effective production.
- Performs electrical and mechanical troubleshooting and root cause analysis.聽
- Diagnoses cause of equipment failure and makes repairs to all equipment plant wide. This includes, but is not limited to: blanchers; rinsers; fillers; briners; cappers; pasteurizers; labelers; tamper banders; case packers; case erectors; wrappers (shrink & stretch); palletizers; de-palletizers; vibrators; cutter/slicers; graders; conveyors; stenciling/coding equipment; flow meters; pumps; soap & oil lubricators; dock doors and levelers.聽
- Replaces bearings, chains, guards, motors, pumps, drives, instrumentation, valves, electrical switches, wiring and conduit, starter contacts (heaters), and other components.
- Using Computerized Maintenance Management System (CMMS), receive work orders, identify faulty equipment, and acquire parts and equipment to complete repairs.聽
- Performs ordinary TIG and Stick welding, grinding, plasma/oxy-acetylene cutting and sheet metal operations.
- Uses basic plumbing skills in fitting PVC pipe, airlines, lubrication lines and other piping and tubing applications.
- Installs and fabricates Lexan and UHMW guarding.
路 Installs tank fittings. Performs fiberglass and metal tank repairs. Maintains air circulation system in tanks.
- Develops and generates proper documentation for all facets of work duties.
- Assists with various engineering and maintenance projects as requested.
- Maintains appropriate computerized and paper files on pertinent information.
- Maintains communication between Engineering, Production and other departments.
- Maintains area of operation in a safe and sanitary manner. Determines that established safety rules, Company policy and good housekeeping are followed.
- Uses knowledge of equipment capability, application techniques, and design limitations in performing job tasks.
Other Duties
路 Operates lifts, booms, tractors and own or company vehicle in performance of some job tasks.
路 Participates in training, employee meetings, committees, project teams, etc. as needed
路 Receives written and verbal instructions on the above job tasks and performs other duties as directed by Supervisor.

Machines, Equipment, Tools Used
Hand tools, air and electrical tools (including grinders, drills, sanders, impact wrench, metal lathe, metal band saw, milling machine, punch and ironworker, arc welder, plasma torch, oxyacetylene torch, TIG/stick welder, plastic welder), metal bender, aerial lift, forklift, truck, square, dividers, ruler, PC, multi-meter, copier, FAX, telephone, two-way radio
Work Environment
Works inside and outside; subject to wide seasonal temperature variations and intermittent wetting from rain and some job tasks. Fumes from syrup ingredients, pickles, pepper, forklifts, industrial waste water. Contact with dust, grease, chain lube and ingredients. Distracting noise in some areas. Protective equipment such as hardhat, ear protection, safety glasses, welding helmet, safety belts and gloves required based on work site and job task. Steel toed footwear required at all times.
Requirements
聽Knowledge, Skills and Abilities
- High school diploma or GED required.
- Technical Associates degree or equivalent training or work experience.聽
- Certificates of Completion in Maintenance Curriculum, or equivalent experience a plus.聽
- 3+ years of experience in high volume process based manufacturing.
- Strong working knowledge of mechanical principles, pneumatics, industrial instrumentation, schematics, P&ID鈥檚, robotic/automated systems, and industrial machines.
- Industrial electrical and mechanical equipment background needed.
- Strong interpersonal skills with strong team working ability.
- Valid driver鈥檚 license needed.
- Ability to speak, read and write in English required.
