Job Description:
Summary:
The Maintenance Technician will be responsible for maintaining and troubleshooting mechanical, electrical and instrumentation systems within a manufacturing facility. This position requires a strong understanding of mechanical systems, electrical systems, control systems, and instrumentation. The technician will work closely with other maintenance personnel to ensure optimal equipment performance and compliance with safety regulations.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
Electrical Maintenance:
Troubleshoot and repair electrical circuits, motors, and control panels.
Install, maintain, and calibrate electrical components, including sensors, switches, and relays.
Perform preventative maintenance on electrical equipment to minimize downtime.
Adhere to electrical safety standards and procedures.
Instrumentation Maintenance:
Calibrate and maintain instrumentation devices, such as pressure transmitters, flow meters, and temperature sensors.
Troubleshoot and repair instrumentation systems, including control loops and data acquisition systems.
Configure and program programmable logic controllers (PLCs) and human-machine interfaces (HMIs).
Maintain and troubleshoot Siemens S1500 controllers and associated systems.
Safety and Compliance:
Adhere to all safety regulations, including those related to hazardous chemicals and intrinsically safe equipment.
Participate in safety meetings and training programs.
Follow lockout/tagout procedures to ensure safe work practices.
Mechanical Maintenance:
Perform routine maintenance on process piping, hydraulic presses, production scale saws, and other general mechanical equipment.
Troubleshoot and repair mechanical issues as needed.
Documentation:
Maintain accurate records of maintenance activities, including work orders and inspection reports.
Create and update technical documentation, such as electrical schematics and wiring diagrams.
Qualifications:
Education: High school diploma or equivalent. Technical degree or certifications in electrical, instrumentation, or related fields preferred.
Experience: Minimum of 3 years of experience in industrial electrical and instrumentation maintenance or demonstrable knowledge of these systems.
Skills:
Strong understanding of electrical and instrumentation principles.
Proficiency in troubleshooting electrical and electronic systems.
Mechanical aptitude and ability to perform basic mechanical repairs.
Strong problem-solving and analytical skills.
Ability to read and interpret electrical schematics and wiring diagrams.
Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written.
Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
Physical Requirements:
Ability to lift up to 50 pounds.
Ability to stand for extended periods of time.
Ability to work in various environmental conditions, including extreme temperatures and noise levels.
