John Deere Advanced Diesel Technician
The Advanced Diesel Technician independently performs advanced diagnostics, service repairs, and maintenance on customer and dealer-owned agricultural equipment. This role supports both in-shop and in-field service work, including responding to customer service calls and operating as a key technical resource across the organization.

What You’ll Do
- Perform advanced diagnostics, repairs, and maintenance on agricultural equipment and Precision ag technology systems
- Perform work both in the shop and in the field, including responding to customer service calls across the TNE territory
- Operate a mobile service vehicle when required to support customer needs
- Serve as a trusted technical resource and represent TNE professionally with customers
- Mentor and support service technician trainees
- Participate in Service EDUCATE and ongoing training programs
- Maintain current knowledge of John Deere and competitive products
- Complete work orders, documentation, and time tracking accurately and timely
- Account for all time, parts, and materials used in assigned work
- Maintain tools, equipment, vehicles, and a clean, safe work environment
- Follow all safety policies and OSHA regulations
- Support customer clinics, training events, and internal initiatives
- Work efficiently to meet productivity and quality expectations
- Take directions from the Location Service Manager to prioritize work, assignments, and customer needs
What We’re Looking For
- 5+ years of experience in diesel or agricultural equipment repair
- Advanced diagnostic and troubleshooting skills across mechanical, electrical, and hydraulic systems
- Ability to perform complex repairs using specialized tools, technical manuals and diagnostic software
- Experience with John Deere Service Advisor (preferred)
- Strong customer service and communication skills
- Ability to work independently in both shop and field environments
- Strong organizational and time management skills
- High School Diploma or equivalent required; technical degree preferred
- Valid driver’s license with clean MVR
- Ability to lift up to 75 lbs and perform physical work
Work Schedule
- Off-season: Monday–Friday, 8:00 AM – 5:00 PM
- In-season: Monday–Friday, 7:30 AM – 5:30 PM & Rotational Saturdays: 7:30 AM – 12:00 PM
- On-call rotation and extended hours during peak seasons
