Service Manager

True North Equipment is seeking a dedicated Service Manager for our Mahnomen, MN location. In this in-person role, you will lead all aspects of the fast-paced service department, ensuring exceptional customer experience, strong team leadership, and efficient operations while driving performance across Diesel, Turf, and Compact Construction Equipment service functions.

What You’ll Do

  • Lead daily operations of the Service Department; hire and manage service team performance 
  • Assign and schedule repairs based on technician skill sets to maximize efficiency 
  • Oversee the full repair order process from customer intake to completion and invoicing 
  • Provide leadership through coaching, mentoring, and performance management 
  • Serve as the primary point of contact for customers regarding service needs, status, and billing 
  • Drive growth and profitability of service labor sales 
  • Monitor KPIs and implement continuous improvement strategies 
  • Maintain minimal Work in Process (WIP) and ensure timely billing 
  • Partner with warranty and other departments to ensure operational efficiency 
  • Support hiring, staffing, and development of Service Department employees 
  • Facilitate team meetings and promote communication and engagement 
  • Ensure a safe, clean, and organized work environment 
  • Maintain strong relationships with customers, team members, and leadership 
  • Participate in John Deere and TNE training and development opportunities 
  • Maintain reliable attendance and support seasonal business needs 
  • This position reports to the Corporate Service Manager

What We’re Looking For

  • Previous management/leadership experience required 
  • Technical diesel background preferred 
  • 5+ years of ag industry experience required 
  • 5+ years of customer service experience required 
  • Strong leadership, communication, and organizational skills 
  • Ability to lead in a fast-paced, high-performance environment 
  • Strong understanding of service operations and financial performance 
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office and dealership systems 
  • Ability to analyze reports and drive decision-making 
  • Associate's degree or equivalent experience required 
  • Valid driver’s license with a clean MVR 
  • Ability to work extended hours and weekends during peak seasons as needed

Work Schedule

  • Off-season: Monday–Friday, 8:00 AM – 5:00 PM 
  • In-season: Monday–Friday, 7:30 AM – 5:30 PM; Rotational Saturdays: 7:30 AM – 12:00 PM 
  • Occasional on-call support as needed
