Service Manager
True North Equipment is seeking a dedicated Service Manager for our Mahnomen, MN location. In this in-person role, you will lead all aspects of the fast-paced service department, ensuring exceptional customer experience, strong team leadership, and efficient operations while driving performance across Diesel, Turf, and Compact Construction Equipment service functions.Â

What You’ll Do
- Lead daily operations of the Service Department; hire and manage service team performanceÂ
- Assign and schedule repairs based on technician skill sets to maximize efficiencyÂ
- Oversee the full repair order process from customer intake to completion and invoicingÂ
- Provide leadership through coaching, mentoring, and performance managementÂ
- Serve as the primary point of contact for customers regarding service needs, status, and billingÂ
- Drive growth and profitability of service labor salesÂ
- Monitor KPIs and implement continuous improvement strategiesÂ
- Maintain minimal Work in Process (WIP) and ensure timely billingÂ
- Partner with warranty and other departments to ensure operational efficiencyÂ
- Support hiring, staffing, and development of Service Department employeesÂ
- Facilitate team meetings and promote communication and engagementÂ
- Ensure a safe, clean, and organized work environmentÂ
- Maintain strong relationships with customers, team members, and leadershipÂ
- Participate in John Deere and TNE training and development opportunitiesÂ
- Maintain reliable attendance and support seasonal business needsÂ
- This position reports to the Corporate Service Manager
What We’re Looking For
- Previous management/leadership experience requiredÂ
- Technical diesel background preferredÂ
- 5+ years of ag industry experience requiredÂ
- 5+ years of customer service experience requiredÂ
- Strong leadership, communication, and organizational skillsÂ
- Ability to lead in a fast-paced, high-performance environmentÂ
- Strong understanding of service operations and financial performanceÂ
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office and dealership systemsÂ
- Ability to analyze reports and drive decision-makingÂ
- Associate's degree or equivalent experience requiredÂ
- Valid driver’s license with a clean MVRÂ
- Ability to work extended hours and weekends during peak seasons as needed
Work Schedule
- Off-season: Monday–Friday, 8:00 AM – 5:00 PMÂ
- In-season: Monday–Friday, 7:30 AM – 5:30 PM; Rotational Saturdays: 7:30 AM – 12:00 PMÂ
- Occasional on-call support as neededÂ
