Ensure that vehicles are properly maintained to minimize down time and maximize the value of the agency’s investment. Help to ensure a safe and efficient Transportation Department Essential Functions (Job Duties) Oversight and implementation of transportation needs and vehicle maintenance Keep equipment available for use by inspecting and testing vehicles, completing preventive maintenance such as engine tune-ups, oil changes, tire rotation and changes, wheel balancing, replacing filters. Maintain vehicle functional condition by listening to operator complaints, conducting inspections. repairing engine failures; repairing mechanical and electrical systems malfunctions; Replacing parts and components; repairing body damage Verifies vehicle serviceability by conducting test drives, adjusting controls and systems. Complies with state vehicle requirement by testing engine, safety, and combustion control standards. Maintains vehicle records by recording service and repairs Keeps shop equipment operating by following operating instructions, troubleshooting breakdowns; maintaining supplies, performing preventive maintenance; calling for repairs. Contains costs by using warranty, evaluating service and parts options Keeps supplies ready by inventorying stock, placing orders, verifying receipts Updates job knowledge by participating in educational opportunities; reading technical publications. Accomplishes maintenance and organization mission by completing related results as needed. Ensures accuracy and timely completion of documentation Maintains agency compliance with regulations set forth by all state and federal regulations and CEO. Perform periodic internal reviews so to ensure that regulations of all government agencies are met. Ensure proper reporting of all incidents as required by regulatory agencies and internal procedures. Maintain a clean NYS driver’s license. Prepare all required reports and special tasks as required including periodic updates as instructed by immediate supervisor or other management as required. Workweek schedule: Monday through Friday. Hours of work: 7:30 a.m. to 4:00 p.m. Hours and schedules may vary depending on Company need and workload. Employees will be given as much advance notice as possible when such changes occur.
