PRIMARY OBJECTIVES OF POSITIONÂ
Responsible for marking, positioning, and securing structural steel members to reinforce concrete or building structures.Â
Â
RESPONSIBILITIES AND ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONSÂ
-Setting up, flagging, and inspecting a craneÂ
-Inspecting rigging properlyÂ
-Running a site levelÂ
-Checking-in truck deliveries against bill of lading when load arrivesÂ
-Counting bars and bundles of rebar, dobies, and wire meshÂ
-Directing forklift/crane to unload delivery truckÂ
-Shaking out rebar and distributing/organizing accordinglyÂ
-Using pliers to tie rebar intersections with tie wireÂ
-Splicing mats or rebar sections together with short rebar dowelsÂ
-Understanding building codes/requirementsÂ
-Cutting excess rebar ends and miscellaneous pieces with gas cut saw or cutting torchÂ
-Installing mechanical rebar splices by bolting or welding ends togetherÂ
-Installing caps on vertical rebar dowels for safetyÂ
-Installing rebar dowels into fresh concrete footingsÂ
-Determining number, size, shape, and location of reinforcing rods from blueprints, sketches, or oral instructionsÂ
-Bending steel rods with hand tools or rodbending machineÂ
-Reinforcing concrete with wire meshÂ
-Ornamental Ironworker: Installing prefabricated ornamental ironworkÂ
-All other duties as assignedÂ
-Renewable Energy Group Accountabilities:Â
   1. Receiving and offloading all major componentsÂ
   2. Installing loose components for Nacelle, hub, and tower preparationÂ
   3. Connecting blades to hubÂ
   4. Setting base and tower sectionsÂ
   5. Managing taglinesÂ
   6. Involved with main erection crane assembly and teardownÂ
   7. Climbing ladders – average 80mÂ

-Understand and apply basic mathematical skills (adding, subtracting, division, & multiplication)Â
