You'll be working with the nation's leading makers of Chevrè and other fine goat cheeses, at their newly expanded, state-of-the-art facility, As a key member of their Shipping and Receiving team, you'll be responsible for keeping operation running smoothly. Warehouse Responsibilities include but are not limited to:
- Assisting in the shipping and receiving processes at the company.
- Assists in the movement of freight, stock, or other materials to and from storage or production areas, loading docks, delivery vehicles, and/or containers by hand or using forklifts or other equipment.
- Sorts product or materials before loading and unloading.
- Examines shipment contents and compares with records to verify accuracy.
- Prepares documents, such as work orders or shipping orders, to route materials.
- Pack, seal, label and/or affix postage to prepare materials for shipping.
- Records shipment data, such as weight, charges, space availability, damages, or discrepancies, for reporting, accounting, and recordkeeping purposes.
- Works with Warehouse Supervisor to resolve problems such as damage, shortages, or nonconformance to specifications.
- Organizes and stages orders for shipping.
- Attaches identifying tags to containers and or mark them with identifying information.
- Reads work orders to determine work assignments and materials or equipment needs.
- Records numbers of units handled and moved, using daily production sheets or work tickets.
- Ensures materials are the proper weight within compliance specifications.
- Maintains equipment storage areas to ensure that inventory is protected.
- Examines and inspects containers, materials, and products to ensure packing specifications are met.
- Assists in cleaning containers, materials, supplies, and work areas.
Warehouse Requirements:
- Utilizing a sit-down forklift daily for at least the past year (stand up experience is a plus!).
- Able to lift 50 pounds repeatedly.
- Able to work in a colder environment (37 degrees).
