Our client is seeking an experienced Warehouse Manager to oversee the overall management, compliance, efficiency and continuous improvement of its warehouse operations supporting both Active Pharmaceutical Ingredients (API) and Finished Dosage Forms (FDF).

The successful candidate will be responsible for ensuring warehousing activities are conducted in full compliance with GMP, GDP, Health & Safety and company standards, while maintaining high levels of inventory accuracy, operational efficiency and service excellence.

Key Responsibilities

  • Lead the day-to-day management of warehouse operations covering raw materials, packaging materials, APIs, intermediates, finished products and consumables.

  • Ensure full compliance with EU GMP, FDA GMP, GDP and internal quality standards.

  • Manage, develop and mentor warehouse supervisors and operators, including recruitment, training and performance management.

  • Maintain accurate inventory control through ERP systems and cycle counting programmes.

  • Oversee temperature-controlled storage areas and hazardous material handling where applicable.

  • Lead investigations into inventory discrepancies, deviations, customer complaints and CAPAs related to warehouse operations.

  • Support regulatory inspections, customer audits and internal quality audits.

  • Monitor warehouse KPIs and drive continuous improvement initiatives focused on safety, quality, productivity and cost optimisation.

  • Collaborate closely with Production, Quality Assurance, Quality Control and Supply Chain teams.

  • Promote a strong Health & Safety culture across warehouse operations.

  • Manage third-party logistics providers and warehouse service partners where required.

  • Identify opportunities to improve warehouse efficiency, optimise storage capacity and enhance material flow through process improvements and warehouse layout optimisation.

Requirements

  • Degree or equivalent qualification in Supply Chain Management, Logistics, Business Administration, Engineering or a related discipline.

  • Minimum 5 years' experience in warehouse operations, ideally within the pharmaceutical, healthcare, chemical or another highly regulated manufacturing environment.

  • At least 3 years' experience in a leadership or management role.

  • Strong knowledge of GMP, GDP and pharmaceutical warehousing requirements.

  • Experience using ERP systems; SAP experience will be considered an advantage.

  • Proven ability to lead, motivate and develop high-performing teams.

  • Excellent analytical, organisational and problem-solving skills.

  • Ability to manage multiple priorities within a dynamic operational environment.

  • Fluent in English; knowledge of Maltese will be considered an asset.
