Our client is seeking to recruit an Accountant to join their growing team in Malta. The role offers a mix of external audit and client accounting responsibilities, providing exposure to a diverse portfolio of clients across various industries. The position is client-facing and offers excellent opportunities for professional growth and development. Both junior and senior candidates will be considered depending on experience and qualifications.

Key Responsibilities

Assisting with or leading external audit engagements for a portfolio of clients
Preparing financial statements in line with applicable accounting standards
Handling bookkeeping, management accounts, VAT returns, and other accounting-related tasks
Liaising directly with clients on audit and accounting matters
Supporting clients with day-to-day financial and compliance requirements
Ensuring assignments are completed within agreed deadlines and professional standards
Collaborating with internal teams to deliver a high level of client service
Keeping up to date with accounting, audit, and regulatory developments

Requirements

Previous experience in audit, accounting, or a similar role
Ability to work in a client-facing environment and build professional relationships
Fluent in both English and Maltese
Ideally fully qualified or in the process of obtaining an accounting qualification
Strong attention to detail and organisational skills
Ability to manage multiple tasks and meet deadlines
Proactive, professional, and team-oriented approach
