Summary of Role: 

Our Fab 8 team is seeking Entry-level Equipment Engineers in our Malta, NY location. The individual selected for this position will be part of the engineering organization with primary responsibilities focused on installation, support, and continuous improvement of semiconductor equipment. 

Essential Responsibilities include: 

  • Work in close collaboration with process and manufacturing teams. 

  • Establish equipment engineering and maintenance business processes necessary to operate and maintain production tools, including documentation to quality standards. 

  • Develop and maintain SOPs, BKMs, and JBIs required to support equipment performance and reliability. 

  • Develop training materials and provide training for equipment technicians. 

  • Partner closely with equipment suppliers, manage escalations, and drive resolution of tool issues. 

  • Perform advanced troubleshooting of semiconductor process tool issues. 

  • Analyze trace data using OEM applications and factory diagnostic systems. 

  • Read and interpret tool schematics, including electrical, utility, and process diagrams. 

  • Establish, monitor, and improve equipment KPIs including Availability, Net MT%, and PM Success metrics. 

  • Support equipment startup, ramp, performance tracking, continuous improvement, and cost reduction initiatives. 

  • Collaborate with sister fabs to share best known methods and implement equipment performance improvements. 

Other Responsibilities: 

  • Perform all activities in a safe and responsible manner and support all Environmental, Health, Safety & Security requirements and programs. 

Required Qualifications: 

  • Education – Graduating with a Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Mechanical Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Materials Science, Solid State Physics or related field from an accredited degree program. 

  • Must have at least an overall 3.0 GPA and proven good academic standing. 

  • Language Fluency - English (Written & Verbal) 

  • Travel - Up to 10% 

Preferred Qualifications: 

  • Prior related internship or co-op experience. 

  • Demonstrated prior leadership experience in the workplace, school projects, competitions, etc. 

  • Strong interest in leveraging AI tools and emerging technologies to enhance productivity, streamline workflows, and support effective decision-making. 

  • Project management skills, i.e. the ability to innovate and execute on solutions that matter; the ability to navigate ambiguity. 

  • Strong written and verbal communication skills. 

  • Strong planning & organizational skills.
