Summary of Role:Â
GlobalFoundries Fab 8 is seeking professionals to support the state of the art300mm semiconductor manufacturing and development in Malta, New York. The core responsibilities of this team involve ownership of process integration of semiconductor devices; monitoring performance and driving improvements related to technology yield, Cp/Cpk of inline and electrical parameters, defectivity, and more.  The team is also responsible for the development of new and emerging technologies through definition/execution of experiments and technical data analysis.  The ideal candidate can demonstrate a technical understanding of semiconductor principles and an understanding of a balanced scorecard approach to develop, sustain, and improve semiconductor technologies with quality, cost, and delivery all considered.Â
Essential Responsibilities Include:Â
Taking responsibility for the success of the 45nm Silicon Photonics technology product ramp from development to mature technologyÂ
Complete ownership of a technology module, accountable for prioritization of projects based on business need, delegation of tasks to extended module team, lead for definition of improvement experiments and hardware dispositionÂ
Responsible for developing/qualifying silicon photonics process flows and process integrations to enable meeting the product requirements for performance, reliability and defect free manufacturing.
Detecting line issues through data analysis and driving appropriate containment and resolution in a timely mannerin order to limit the impact to yield and delivery Â
Collaborating with device, process module in driving development work for new production technologies  Â
Driving cost reductions through expense elimination, line and test yield improvement, and efficiency improvementsÂ
Ensuring product route synchronization with baseline technologyÂ
Customer engagement through reporting of issues, status and milestonesÂ
Other Responsibilities:Â
Perform all activities in a safe and responsible manner and support all Environmental, Health, Safety & Security requirements and programsÂ
Required Qualifications:
Education – Graduating with Masters and/or PhD with desired major of technology-related degree: Photonics, Optics, Electrical Engineering, Electronics Engineering, Microsystems, Engineering, Physics, Materials Science, or other related engineering physical science disciplines.
Must have at least an overall 3.0 GPA and proven good academic standing.
Language Fluency - English (Written & Verbal). Excellent interpersonal skills, energetic and self-starter. Demonstrated ability to use these attributes in conflict resolution if required.
Fluent in Microsoft Office applications: MS Excel, MS Word, MS PowerPoint, Outlook, Teams.
Ability to work effectively and efficiently with diverse teams, customers, internal and external partners.
Demonstrated ability to efficiently solve problems and provide clear guidance on critical decisions.
Preferred Qualifications:
Prior related internship or co-op experience.
Demonstrated prior leadership experience in the workplace, school projects, competitions, etc.
Project management skills, i.e. the ability to innovate and execute solutions that matter; the ability to navigate ambiguity.
Strong written and verbal communication skills
Strong planning & organizational skills
Expected Salary Range
$69,000.00 - $120,000.00The exact Salary will be determined based on qualifications, experience and location.
