Application Engineer III-Java

Ghost Basis Java description: 

Join Ghost Basis, the team behind the mission-critical services that power Vanguard's cost basis platform. As a Senior Java Developer, you'll design and build high-scale Java/Spring Boot APIs, deliver new client and business capabilities, and solve challenges involving performance, resiliency, and large-scale data processing. You'll work closely with a talented team of engineers, help mentor and develop junior developers, and play a key role in shaping solutions used across Vanguard and supporting millions of client accounts.

Qualifications: 

• Expertise in Java and Spring Boot development, REST API design, distributed systems, and system integration. Strong knowledge of service architecture, performance optimization, debugging, resiliency, and production support.
• Must-have skills: Java, Spring Boot, REST/GraphQL APIs, AWS compute and storage including ECS, S3, Lambda, and IAM, GitHub, Splunk, Honeycomb.
• Nice-to-have skills: Python, Angular, React, Node, AWS relational databases, SQL queries, event-based architecture, TDD/BDD. 
• Demonstrated ability to mentor junior engineers, perform code reviews, and influence technical direction across a team.
• Knowledge of Agile, Confluence, JIRA; aptitude for continuous process improvement for process flows/workflows.
• AWS Cloud Practitioner certification preferred.
• Excellent communication and collaboration skills to work with cross-functional teams.
