IOS Engineer

This role is on the mobile team that is part of vanguard’s Discretionary Advice platform. Discretionary Advice Platform Engineering is committed to Vanguard’s goal to bring high-quality, affordable Advice to our clients. DAP enables multiple advice offers including an all-digital offer for the masses and a hybrid offer that pairs the digital experience with an Advisor for clients who value human support. Both offers are available for Personal Investor clients and Institutional plan participants. We are a team living the principles of agile and lean and we seek ambitious outcomes that resonate with clients while creating a fun and exciting work experience for our crew. To be successful in this role, you should have:

• Experience with Native application development

• Proficiency in one or more relevant programming languages (e.g. Swift/Objective-C, JavaScript)

• Ability to learn new technologies quickly and demonstrate a hands-on understanding

• Understanding of design patterns, integration patterns/practice, Data modeling principles and best practices

• A good track record of project delivery for large cross-team projects

• Strong communication skills and the ability to connect with engineers, managers, PMs, customers

Preferred Skills:

• Demonstrated experience with software engineering fundamentals including object-oriented design, data structures, dependency injection, testable code, and algorithms

• Latest iOS SDK / XCode

• Swift 5

• Git (GitHub) 

• Honeycomb

• Splunk

• some familiarity with react native development

Qualifications:

• Degree in Computer Science or equivalent preferred or relevant experience

• 2+ years of software development experience

• 2+ years as a mobile developer

Important Factors:

• Work must be performed in the U.S.

• Hybrid model of work; Tuesday-Thursday in office
