Orbital and Manual TIG Welder

Position Overview:

The Welder will support our Production Department by manually TIG welding and semi-automatically orbitally welding high and ultra-high purity gas delivery gas purification system components. This position requires an understanding of engineering drawings, blueprints, and job travelers. The candidate must have good manual dexterity, experience with mechanical assembly and manufacturing measuring and math skills.

Responsibilities Include:

• Prepare materials by cutting, fitting, cleaning, and aligning components before welding
• Weld both large and small diameter stainless steel tubing
• Read project drawings, specifications, work orders, and procedures
• Position, align, and set-up components according to specifications
• Identify faulty components and/or test and inspect welded surfaces for quality
• Perform standard TIG and tack welding procedures
• Safely operate orbital welding equipment
• Complete production paperwork and recordkeeping
• Maintain a clean, neat, and safe work area (5S)
• Willing to work overtime as required
• Effectively interface with team members for component and equipment resources

Essential Skills:

• Quality/detail oriented with the ability to achieve repeatable results
• Strong mechanical aptitude
• Excellent hand-eye coordination with the ability to work with and handle small instruments and components
• Strong appreciation for time management, priorities, and deadlines
• GTAW (TIG) Welding
• Fabrication experience is a plus

Requirements:

• Must have good vision and dexterity
• Must be able to stand, bend, twist, and sit throughout the day for extended periods of time
• Be able to follow protocols and direction thoroughly and repetitively
• High School degree preferred
• Experience in a production, assembly, or manufacturing environment
• Ability to lift 50 lbs
• 3+ years of GTAW (TIG) welding of stainless steel
• Must pass a TIG welding test
