THE ROLE

As a Software Architect at AKUVO, you’ll shape the technical foundation of our fintech platform — designing scalable, secure, cloud-based distributed systems and guiding a small team of developers to bring them to life. You’ll stay hands-on, partnering closely with our Development, Quality Assurance, and Analyst teams to design, build, and continuously enhance our products.

This is a role for a senior technologist who enjoys both high-level architecture and rolling up their sleeves to solve hard problems.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

Design and own the architecture for AKUVO’s cloud-based, distributed fintech solutions, ensuring scalability, performance, and reliability.
Define and champion architecture standards, design patterns, and technical best practices across the engineering team.
Provide technical leadership and mentorship to a small team of developers, guiding design decisions and conducting architecture and code reviews.
Stay hands-on with focused development work to keep your skills sharp and stay close to the codebase.
Embed security, data protection, and regulatory compliance into solution design, consistent with fintech industry requirements.
Research and prototype new technologies and techniques through proofs of concept to keep our solutions current, performant, and scalable.
Translate business requirements into well-architected technical solutions in partnership with Product and Analyst teams.
Identify, prioritize, and address technical debt to sustain long-term platform health.

REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS

8+ years of professional software development experience, with significant depth designing and implementing .NET solutions.
Proven experience designing and implementing cloud-based, distributed applications.
Strong front-end development experience, including a JavaScript-based framework (React, Vue, or Angular).
5+ years of experience with Microsoft SQL Server.
Proficiency with a Git-based source control workflow.
Exceptional written and verbal communication skills.
A proven track record of excellent problem-solving.
Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related field — or equivalent practical experience.

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS

Experience with Microsoft Azure cloud-based architecture.
Experience in fintech, financial services, or another regulated, data-sensitive domain.
Familiarity with CI/CD pipelines, DevOps practices, and automated testing.
Experience with microservices and API design.
