Summary
Join Merola Tile — a leader in the ceramic tile industry — as we seek a hands-on responsible for the day-to-day execution of maintenance and facility operations across the organization. Essential Duties
Team Leadership
- Lead, coach, onboard, train, and develop the Facilities and Maintenance team through daily direction, mentoring, and performance feedback.
- Assign, prioritize, and coordinate daily maintenance activities to ensure timely completion of work orders and preventive maintenance schedules.
- Conduct daily team huddles to communicate priorities, safety expectations, and operational updates.
- Foster a culture of accountability, teamwork, engagement, and continuous improvement.
Maintenance Operations
- Perform and oversee preventive, predictive, and corrective maintenance activities.
- Troubleshoot and resolve mechanical, electrical, plumbing, HVAC, and general building system issues.
- Respond to equipment failures and facility emergencies by coordinating repairs to minimize operational downtime.
- Conduct root cause analysis on recurring equipment failures and implement corrective actions.
- Maintain maintenance tools, equipment, spare parts, and inventories to support efficient operations.
Facilities Operations
- Ensure all assigned facilities remain safe, clean, functional, and operational by coordinating daily maintenance and repair activities.
- Support facility improvement projects and recommend opportunities to improve equipment reliability and operational efficiency.
- Manage facility opening and closing procedures to ensure building security and operational readiness.
- Apply sound technical judgment to identify, assess, and resolve facility and equipment issues.
Vendor & Contractor Coordination
- Coordinate vendors, contractors, OEMs, and service providers to ensure work is completed safely, on time, within company standards, and with appropriate technical support.
- Monitor contractor performance and communicate service issues or improvement opportunities to the Director of Operations.
Safety & Compliance
- Promote and enforce OSHA regulations, company safety policies, and contractor safety compliance.
- Support Lockout/Tagout (LOTO), preventive inspections, incident investigations, corrective actions, and emergency preparedness activities.
Planning & Administration
- Manage maintenance work orders using the company's Computerized Maintenance Management System (CMMS).
- Monitor preventive maintenance schedules, equipment performance, KPIs, downtime, and work orders while generating reports to support continuous improvement and data-driven decision-making.
- Maintain maintenance records, equipment documentation, and inventory accuracy.
- Support the Director of Operations with maintenance planning, capital project recommendations, and departmental initiatives.
Other duties
· Partner with Operations and other departments to ensure facility activities support business objectives.
· Support leadership with project updates, operational reporting, process improvements, and recommendations based on industry’s best practices and emerging maintenance technologies.

Requirements
- High School Diploma or GED.
- Minimum 5 years of maintenance or facilities experience in manufacturing, warehouse, distribution, or industrial environment.
- Minimum 2 years of supervisory or team leadership experience.
- Strong troubleshooting skills involving mechanical, electrical, plumbing, HVAC, and facility systems.
- Experience executing preventive and predictive maintenance programs.
- Ability to interpret technical manuals, equipment documentation, and maintenance procedures.
- Strong organizational, communication, and problem-solving skills.
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office applications.
Preferred
- Technical degree, trade certification, or equivalent vocational training.
- Experience utilizing a Computerized Maintenance Management System (CMMS).
- OSHA 30 Certification.
- Forklift and/or aerial lift certification.
- Experience supporting multiple facilities.
Physical Demands
Regularly performs physical tasks in a warehouse and manufacturing environment including standing, walking, bending, climbing, reaching, lifting, and moving materials up to 50 pounds. May occasionally work at heights, operate maintenance equipment, or use approved mechanical lifting devices. Reasonable accommodation may be made for qualified individuals with disabilities.
Work Environment
Work is performed primarily in warehouse and manufacturing environments with exposure to varying temperatures, dust, noise, odors, chemicals, and powered industrial equipment. Appropriate PPE is required based on work activities.
