As one of the nation's largest single-source providers of lighting and electrical products, electrical services, electrical construction, and energy management solutions, we are expanding our team and seeking a Junior Lighting Estimator to join us in Manalapan, NJ.

 

Job Scope: As a Junior Lighting Estimator, you will support the team by providing accurate, competitive, and timely project pricing through systematic and careful drawing take-offs. The ideal candidate will possess a strong desire to learn, provide professional customer service, meet deadlines, and work effectively in challenging environments.

 

Responsibilities:

  • Assist in reviewing and evaluating architectural and electrical drawings.
  • Support the completion of lighting, lighting controls, and emergency lighting take-offs accurately and timely.
  • Read and review lighting specifications to ensure they align with the layout and application on drawings.
  • Assist in interacting with professionals (architects, engineers, lighting designers) to resolve inconsistencies between specifications and drawings via RFIs (requests for information).
  • Help check the specifications and quantities against orders when projects are won.
  • Assist in reviewing and accounting for lighting scope changes for bulletins/addendums on projects in progress to support Project Management.
  • Contribute to determining costs and sell amounts to maintain appropriate margins.
  • Assist in submitting accurate and timely proposals/bids to customers.
  • Collaborate with Management/Sales on all proposals.
  • Support the increase of overall project performance.
  • Interact with manufacturers and factory sales reps to ensure competitive and timely pricing.
  • Follow up with contractors on proposals/bids, review scope, and answer scope/project-related questions.   

Qualifications


Requirements:

  • College graduate preferred.
  • Basic understanding of lighting estimating; prior experience is a plus.
  • Basic understanding of construction estimating; prior experience is a plus.
  • Familiarity with OASIS estimating software is a plus.
  • Experience with reviewing construction plans, specifications, architectural sketches, and other related construction documents is a plus.
  • Ability to complete material take-offs is a plus.
  • Must be able to meet deadlines, multitask, and work effectively in a challenging environment.
  • Proficient in MS Office Suite (Excel, Outlook, Word, and PowerPoint).
  • Strong quantitative and analytical math skills.
  • Excellent time management and organizational skills.
