About the Position

In this role, you will...

  • Clean and help maintain beaches, picnic areas, parking lots, playgrounds, restroom facilities, buildings, etc.

  • Operate light automotive equipment, UTVs, light landscape equipment, and hand tools.

  • Track inventory.

  • Complete routine maintenance projects.

  • Keep schedules of maintenance for assigned area(s).

  • Perform daily safety checks.

  • Lead volunteer groups and projects.

Work Location:  South County beach locations to include Venice Island and Manasota Key Beach Parks.

About the Schedule

Work Hours:  

  • Full-Time, 40 hours per week. (Overtime may vary based on the season.)

  • 2nd Shift: 1:30 p.m. – 10:00 p.m. 

  • Work schedules can vary due to split shifts, rotations, on-call, emergencies, scheduled events, etc.

  • Holidays and weekend shifts will be required.

About You

Minimum Qualifications: 

  • High School diploma or its equivalent.

  • Valid Florida driver's license.

Preferred ("Bonus") Qualifications:

  • Experience with small tools and lightweight maintenance equipment.

  • Public Park Restroom, Facility, and Grounds maintenance.

Physical Demands: Employees in this role must occasionally lift and/or move more than 50 pounds when using a dolly or cart, or assistance from another team member is available when lifting excessive weight. There is occasional work in high, precarious places and occasional work around fumes, airborne particles, and/or toxic/caustic chemicals. This position will require extended periods of outdoor work in all seasons, including high temperatures and inclement weather

Subject to Passing Substance Screening:  This position is subject to passing a pre-employment substance screening.  An applicant who fails to pass a required drug screening test shall be disqualified from employment in any class for a period of five (5) years.

Pay: $17.34hour + $0.52/hour second shift differential
