This Barista role at our brewing company is for a friendly and passionate individual who thrives on creating memorable experiences for every guest. More than just a skilled beverage artisan, you'll be the warm welcome and familiar face, enhancing our brewery's atmosphere by serving exceptional coffee creations, refreshing ice cream treats, and a delicious assortment of foods
PRIMARY RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Skillfully preparing a diverse range of hot and cold beverages, including espresso-based drinks like lattes, cappuccinos, and macchiatos, as well as teas, hot chocolates, and blended options, consistently adhering to recipes and quality standards.
- Preparing and serving various food items, which may include sandwiches, pastries, and ice cream treats like scoops, sundaes, and milkshakes.
- Providing a warm and engaging environment, greeting customers promptly, taking orders accurately (including customizations), making recommendations, handling payments, and ensuring a positive and memorable customer experience.
- Maintaining impeccable cleanliness and organization of the coffee bar, ice cream station, food preparation areas, equipment, and seating areas, and adhering to all health and safety regulations
- Assisting with restocking supplies, including coffee beans, milk, ice cream, toppings, syrups, cups, and other necessary items, and communicating needs to management
- Operating and maintaining various equipment, including espresso machines, grinders, ice cream machines, and point-of-sale (POS) systems, and troubleshooting minor issues or reporting malfunctions to management
REQUIREMENTS:
- Demonstrated expertise in coffee brewing techniques (e.g., espresso extraction, milk frothing, pour-over)
- Proficiency in operating and maintaining espresso machines, grinders, and other café equipment.
- Experience or willingness to learn how to prepare and serve ice cream and food items
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills for interacting with customers and colleagues
- Ability to handle customer inquiries, feedback, and potential issues professionally and efficiently
EDUCATION/TRAINING/EXPERIENCE:
- High School or equivalent. Coursework in restaurant preferred.
- Prior experience as a barista or in a food and beverage service role is preferred
- Familiarity with or an interest in the brewing process and products can be beneficial
PHYSICAL DEMANDS:
- Physical demands for this position are stands, walks, bends, lifts, and moves on an ongoing basis during working hours within a fast-paced environment.Â
- Capacity to lift and carry items like stock supplies, potentially up to 30 pounds.
- Must be able to work a flexible schedule including days, nights, and weekends
