Villagio Hospitality Group is growing! We are seeking a dynamic and energetic Bartender to join our award-winning team at The Black Sheep. As a Bartender in a distillery setting, you will not only serve craft cocktails and beverages but also educate guests on our production process, flavors, and unique spirit offerings. It will be your mission to create memories by way of exceptional experiences for all guests to keep them coming back.
PRIMARY RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Verify identification and age requirements of customers
- Enforce company policies and state laws regarding the consumption of alcohol
- Take drink and food orders with a positive and helpful attitude
- Serve guests alcoholic and nonalcoholic beverages
- Open and maintain tabs throughout your shiftÂ
- Enter food / beverage orders, prepare checks and collect payments
- Assess guests’ needs and preferences to make recommendations
- Replenish and restock bar inventory
- Wash and maintain clean glassware at all times
- Have an in-depth knowledge of the craft beer, wine, and cocktails served
- Always be focused on crafting the best guest experience
- Comply with all food and beverage regulations
- Build rapport with regular customers to create a positive atmosphere
- Be guest oriented and a positive representative of The Black Sheep
REQUIREMENTS:
- Prior bartending experience requiredÂ
- Excellent understanding of whiskey, gin, vodka, and/or other spirits, including tasting, mixing, and pairing
- A professional, energetic, and positive attitude and team player mind set
- Ability to handle multiple tasks simultaneously, such as taking orders, mixing drinks, and managing transactions.Â
- Experience using a POS system
- Ability to remain calm and professional in a fast-paced environment
- Basic mathematical skills necessary to operate a cash register, make change, total guest checks, count total bank
EDUCATION/TRAINING/EXPERIENCE:
- High School diploma or GED required
- 2+ years’ experience as a bartender or in a distillery or brewery tasting room is preferredÂ
- Must obtain and maintain Training for Intervention Procedures (TIPS) Certification upon employment
PHYSICAL DEMANDS:
- Ability to work outdoors in various weather conditionsÂ
- Comfortable lifting up to 25 lbs and moving quickly in a dynamic environment
- Balancing, stooping, kneeling, crouching, reaching, pushing, pulling, lifting, grasping, talking, hearing, and repetitive motions.
