Job Summary 

Villagio Hospitality Group is growing! We are seeking talented and passionate Cooks to join our award-winning team at The Black Sheep Restaurant. If you’re a culinary professional who thrives in a fast-paced, high-energy kitchen and is dedicated to delivering exceptional dining experiences, we want you on our team!

The Cook prepares food/menu items for guest consumption, utilizing only approved recipes, cooking methods and ingredients as set by Food & Beverage/Culinary Management. Maintains all food, equipment and kitchens to be in compliance with all health codes and Villagio Hospitality standards. Maintains a positive, team-oriented and accommodating attitude toward guests (internal as well as external), fellow team members and management, at all times. Operates in representation of the culinary team’s best in class culture, while championing the goals and priorities of The Black Sheep in a manner that reflects and upholds Villagio’s vision, mission and values.

PRIMARY RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Prepare and cook meals across our diverse range of food outlets, ensuring consistent quality and presentation.
  • Understand and follow recipes and presentation specifications as set by the executive chef.
  • Maintain cleanliness and comply with food sanitation requirements by properly handling food and ensuring correct storage.
  • Operate a variety of kitchen equipment safely and efficiently.
  • Manage time effectively to meet service, prep, and cleaning expectations.
  • Assists in food prep and any other duties per business needs
  • Assist in the development of menu items and daily specials.
  • Work collaboratively with the kitchen team to ensure smooth operations and guest satisfaction.
  • Adhere to all company policies and procedures, including health and safety standards.

REQUIREMENTS:

  • Proven experience as a cook in a high-volume restaurant or similar setting
  • Strong understanding of various cooking methods, ingredients, equipment, and procedures.
  • Excellent communication and teamwork skills.
  • Ability to work efficiently under pressure
  • Demonstrates knowledge of food preparation and presentation. 
  • Capable of following procedures and taking direction

EDUCATION/TRAINING/EXPERIENCE:

  • Culinary school diploma or equivalent professional training is preferred
  • Strong understanding of various cooking methods, ingredients, equipment, and procedures.
  • Excellent communication and teamwork skills.
  • Ability to work efficiently under pressure

PHYSICAL DEMANDS:

  • Must be able to stand for extended periods and lift up to 50 pounds
  • Flexibility to work in different outlets as needed
