Position Overview  

Aveanna Education Services (AES) is seeking Board-Certified Behavior Analysts (BCBAs) to lead an ABA-based early intervention clinic/classroom for Kaynor Technical High Scool in Waterbury, CT.

  • Location: Cheney Technical High School

  • Schedule: 2-3 days a week or even full time!  

  • Grades: 9th to 12th grades

  • Caseload: Within agency guidelines, includes travel time

  • HR/Clearance Requirements:

    • TB Test

    • PA State Police Clearance (Act 34)

    • FBI Fingerprint Clearance (Act 114)

    • Child Abuse Clearance (Act 151)

    • Mandated Reporter Training

Essential Job Functions

Assessment & Planning

  • Develop and update Individualized Education Plans

  • Align goals with student IEPs and team input

  • Provide direct and consultative services per IEP

  • Monitor and adjust interventions based on student progress

  • Ensure fidelity of implementation of behavior intervention plans

Behavioral Interventions

  • Implement evidence-based ABA strategies (DTT, NET, PRT)

  • Develop and oversee Positive Behavior Support plans

  • Provide behavior crisis support as needed

  • Design programs to build communication, social, and adaptive skills

  • Utilize tools like PECS, AAC, and verbal behavior techniques

  • Support daily living skills (toileting, dressing, feeding)

Team Collaboration

  • Participate in IEP team meetings and training sessions

  • Collaborate with multidisciplinary team of teachers, therapists, and staff

  • Supervise and coach BHTs, RBTs, paraprofessionals, and class aides

  • Provide parent training and strategy support

  • Conduct skill-based training sessions when necessary

Administrative

  • Collect and analyze behavior and skill acquisition data

  • Maintain current written documents or electronic files, as required by the clinical team.

  • Maintain daily notes and compliance documentation

  • Ensure compliance with regulatory and organizational policies and procedures.
  • Complete other duties, as assigned

Qualifications

  • Master’s degree in Applied Behavior Analysis, Psychology, Education, or a related field
  • Board Certification in Behavior Analysis (BCBA), in good standing with BACB
  • Valid Licensed Behavior Analyst in CT
  • Strong understanding of ABA principles and techniques, including DTT, NET, and PRT.
  • Two (2) years of experience conducting FBA’s and creating Behavior Support Plans
  • Experience teaching functional communication and social skills, and implementing and creating behavior analytic programs
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills for working with children, families, and interdisciplinary teams. 
  • Proficiency in data collection and analysis tools.
