Job DetailsJob Location: Manchester, TN 37355Position Type: Full Time SUMMARY Plans, organizes, and coordinates comprehensive public and voluntary recreation programs at Recreation Complex and parks by performing the following duties personally or through subordinate supervisors. Responsibilities include, but are not limited to: Fitness Classes, Summer Day Camp, and Special Events.   ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES include the following. Other duties may be assigned.   Studies and analyzes recreational needs and resources to produce a variety of programs for the Recreation Complex and park.   Develops short- and long-range goals and objectives with the Parks and Recreation Director.   Interprets recreation programs and their philosophy to individuals and groups through personal participation, teaching, and staff assignments.   Schedules programs and use of facilities, with coordination of other staff members and maintenance. Creates advertising for assigned recreations programs and activities. Purchases equipment and services from outside vendors upon authorization by Recreation Director.   Establishes and maintains contact with service and equipment vendors; \                                                                                                                                                                                                                  ·.· Studies and comply with all applicable government regulations and enforces facilities use rules established by the Parks and Recreation Department.   Develops and maintains relations with other recreation providers in community.   SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITIES Supervises part time fitness instructors, volunteers/Summer Day Camp Staff, and other part time employees assigned to supervised programs.   QUALIFICATIONS To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each Page 1     essential duty satisfactorily. AB.A. or B.S. degree in a related field may be substituted with 4 years’ experience in a Recreation or Fitness setting.   LANGUAGE SKILLS Must have excellent communication skills to instruct clearly all levels of participants in Wellness programs and activities. Written skills must include ability to instruct clearly all levels of /                                                             participants in fitness classes, Summer Day Camp, and other programs. j     MATHEMATICAL SKILLS Computer skills are a must. Familiarity with Microsoft Word, Excell, and software for advertising. Basic computational skills, ability to put together a budget.   REASONING ABILITY Must be able to work independently and make decisions. Ability to design programs and apply them to individuals and groups.   CERTIFICATES, LICENSES, REGISTRATIONS Must have a current CPR certification and AED certification. Should hold at least one national professional certification as a personal trainer, fitness instructor, or other program instructor.
