Most trades jobs put you in one lane — tools or sales, field or office. This one combines both, and pays you for doing them well together.
Who We Are
Black Magic Chimney Sweeps is a locally owned, growing team serving Southern Vermont homeowners — no franchise, no scripts. We're built on honest assessments, quality work, and customers who refer their neighbors.
The Role
You'll be the person homeowners trust when something's wrong with their fireplace or chimney. You run pre-set in-home appointments only — no cold calling, no door knocking. Homeowners have already requested you. Your job: diagnose accurately, explain clearly, present honest solutions, close the work, and deliver.
Day-to-Day
- Conduct chimney and fireplace inspections; walk homeowners through findings
- Prepare accurate estimates and close the work
- Service pellet, wood, and gas hearth appliances
- Communicate proactively with Ops and office staff on every job
- Keep vehicles, tools, and equipment in working order
- Follow OSHA and company safety standards — no shortcuts
What You Need
- Trade, home services, or customer-facing sales background
- Comfortable with hand and power tools
- Strong communication — with customers and teammates
- Composure under pressure
- Valid driver's license, clean record
- HS diploma or GED
Chimney experience is a bonus, not a requirement — we train you and pay for your CSIA certification.
What We Offer
- Pay: $20–25/hr base (DOE), plus uncapped monthly commission — 2% on production up to $40K, 4% above $40K. Commission earners typically add $1,000–$3,500 annually, with top performers earning significantly more as they build their route.
- Paid CSIA certification and ongoing training
- Full-time, year-round, no nights, limited seasonal weekends
- Health insurance for you and your family
- Paid holidays and PTO
- Retirement plan
- Real advancement tied to performance
Straight Talk
This is a sales role — your income is tied to your results. If presenting solutions and asking for the business isn't for you, that's okay, this isn't the right fit. In return: pre-set leads, flexible scheduling, a team that backs you, and a product people genuinely need.
Ready to talk?
Do you show up when you say you will? Communicate when plans change? Talk to a homeowner like a trusted advisor, not a salesperson?
If yes — tell us about your background. No resume required to start the conversation.
