Fitness Instructor - Tai Chi Instructor

Overview

RiverWoods Manchester is currently hiring for a contract Tai Chi Instructor to join our Fitness team to lead Saturday morning classes!

Responsibilities

As a Tai Chi Instructor, you’ll help RiverWoods residents reach their goals in a supportive and energizing environment. You will:

• Lead group classes focused on proper form, movement, breathing, and flow while working with residents in Independent Living [IL] and Assisted Living [AL]
• Create a welcoming and inclusive atmosphere for participants of all fitness levels
• Offer modifications and guidance based on individual needs
• Demonstrate techniques with clarity and enthusiasm
• Encourage consistent attendance and foster a sense of community in your classes
• Work in state-of-the-art facilities with high-quality equipment and spacious studios
• Track attendance and complete documentation as required

Qualifications

Required:

• Certification in Tai Chi
• Experience teaching group fitness or wellness classes, ideally including Tai Chi or similar modalities
• Previous experience working with the senior population
• Strong interpersonal and communication skills
• Passion for inspiring others and helping people improve their physical and mental wellness
• Knowledge of fitness principles, body movement, and safe exercise practices
• Ability to engage with and motivate a diverse group of participants
• A background in exercise science, health & wellness, or fitness training is a plus

Preferred:

• Previous experience working in an Independent Living and Assisted Living environment preferred.
• First Aid and CPR certification preferred.
