About the Opportunity:

The KPO Technician will focus primarily on hands on shop floor Kaizen activities, performs a variety of Continuous Improvement tasks in support of the Kaizen Promotion Office. Aides in creating a safe, efficient, and effective Lean operation.  

Location: Manchester, CT

This role will be onsite 100% of the time.  It is a 1st shift position with core hours of 7:00 PM - 3:30 PM.

Responsibilities:

  • Interfaces with all functional departments and handle Continuous Improvement requests 
  • Undertakes independent projects as needed in support of department
  • Supports Supervisors, Team Leaders and Associates in the application of the Lean principles
  • Assists in the creation of Work Instructions, Daily Management, 6 Sigma and TPM (Total Productive Maintenance) Documents
  • Assists in designs and fabricates equipment from Creform Tubing and other materials
  • Assists in the completion of Kaizen Newspaper Action Items
  • Participates in and supports Kaizen Event
  • Adheres to all Core Values (Health and Safety, Quality, Customer Service, Development of People, Integrity, Corporate Citizenship, Continuous Improvement, Respect).

  • Other job-related duties as assigned

Required Qualifications:

  • High School Diploma or equivalent
  • 1-2 years in continuous improvement related experience
  • Must be authorized to work in the U.S. on a full-time basis without sponsorship now or in the future. The Company cannot offer employment to visa holders who require employer sponsorship in the future or cannot work now on a full-time basis.
  • Must be able to perform work subject to ITAR/EAR regulations.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Knowledge of Lean Manufacturing or Six Sigma methodologies
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Word, Outlook, Excel and PowerPoint
  • Associate Degree or equivalent experience

Physical Requirements: 

  • Requires mobility in a manufacturing plant environment while using Personal Protective Equipment. 
  • Must be able to frequently sit, stand and walk.
  • Must be able to lift and carry up to 15 pounds.
  • Must be able to have prolonged periods sitting at a desk and working on a computer.
