​Job Description: 

Registered Sleep Technologist – Pulmonary Medicine

Per Diem coverage - looking for availability to cover Mon-Fri between 8AM-430PM as needed.

About the Job

Conduct the daily operations of Out of Center Sleep Testing – OCST (i.e., home sleep testing), CPAP Education and desensitization of patients, track CPAP compliance, obtain insurance approvals and assist with scheduling.

What You’ll Do

Patient education, equipment orientation and set up with Level III device for home testing.

Equipment maintenance (disinfection, re-packaging, dispensing) Provide CPAP desensitization.

Data management (home sleep test scoring, assemble post-test questionnaires)

Prepare report for interpretation by the sleep provider.

Assist in Quality Assurance program (Excel database)

Obtain insurance preauthorization (requires working knowledge major sleep disorders, indications, and contraindications for testing with PSG versus OCST, telephone skills, time management, liaison with patients and medical staff, summarizing medical information)

Scheduling and coordination of testing. Follow up calls with patients.

Auto PAP orientation.

Compliance facilitation.

Database management (download smart cards prepare CPAP compliance reports, maintain Excel database of compliance and other statistics)

Communications with DME provider, ordering physician.

Document progress notes in electronic medical record (EPIC)

What You’ll Need

High School Diploma or equivalent required, bachelor’s degree preferred.

Registered polysomnographic technologist (RPSGT) required. BLS Required.

Three years working in patient care in a sleep lab or Durable Medical Equipment supplier required.
