The opportunity

Southern New Hampshire is seeking student employees to fill the role of 21st Century Program Support Staff. Support Staff will engage with students in our after-school program by providing support during academic and enrichment activities. Help create a fun, positive, and engaging experience for students while lending a helping hand wherever needed.

Job Responsibilities

  • Build positive relationships and engage with students throughout the afternoon.
  • Support students with academic activities, including math and reading.
  • Participate in and help facilitate enrichment activities such as arts and crafts, STEM, and gym games.
  • Jump into activities and encourage student participation and engagement.
  • Provide assistance wherever needed to support daily program activities.
  • Help maintain a safe, welcoming, and positive environment for students.

Minimum Qualifications

  • Current enrollment in classes as part of a SNHU degree program
  • Work study part of financial aid package
  • Students with work study may be prioritized
  • Reliable transportation

Learning Outcomes (NACE Competencies)

Students will gain knowledge of working in a school setting and through collaboration gain experience in supervising/mentoring youth. Build Professionalism through reliability, accountability, and workplace etiquette. Strengthen Teamwork skills by collaborating with department staff and fellow student employees.

Work Schedule

Flexible based on interest. Generally within Manchester Public Schools, Monday - Friday 2:45-5pm

Compensation

The hourly pay range for this position is $13.00 - $15.00. Actual offer will be based on skills, qualifications, experience and internal equity, in addition to relevant business considerations.
