POSITION: EQUIPMENT TECHNICIAN
Are you a hands-on problem solver who enjoys diagnosing equipment issues, making repairs, and keeping operations running smoothly? COMANCO is seeking a dedicated Equipment Technician to join our Fleet Department. In this role, you'll work with a variety of equipment and job trailer systems that support critical field operations across the company. If you take pride in mechanical troubleshooting, preventative maintenance, workplace safety, and continuous improvement, we want to hear from you.
What You'll Do
As an Equipment Technician, you will play a vital role in maintaining the safety, reliability, and performance of company equipment. Your day-to-day responsibilities will include inspecting, troubleshooting, repairing, and maintaining small to medium-sized equipment, ensuring all assets are functioning properly and ready for use. You will conduct safety inspections on returning equipment, identify mechanical or operational issues, complete work orders, and coordinate the ordering of replacement parts needed for repairs and preventative maintenance. You'll ensure damaged equipment is properly tagged and removed from service until repairs are completed. This position also supports the maintenance and repair of job trailers and their equipment, including compressors, bone cutters, tensiometers, and other operational tools. You will help load and unload equipment as needed and travel to project sites to perform inspections, troubleshooting, and repairs when field support is required. Working closely with Fleet and Operations teams, you'll contribute ideas that improve equipment performance, increase shop efficiency, and support the development of COMANCO-designed equipment. You'll also assist in training newer team members and help promote a culture of safety, accountability, and teamwork.
What We're Looking For
We're looking for candidates who have mechanical aptitude, strong troubleshooting skills, and a commitment to quality workmanship. Successful candidates are self-motivated, organized, safety-focused, and capable of working independently as well as collaboratively with others. Experience performing equipment repairs, preventative maintenance, diagnostics, and safety inspections is preferred. The ability to read and complete work orders, communicate effectively, and maintain accurate maintenance records is important for success in this role. Candidates must be willing to travel to job sites as needed, operate safely in shop and field environments, and consistently follow all company safety requirements, including proper PPE usage.
