Description

Vistra is seeking is seeking two highly creative and technically skilled Graphic Designers to support the U.S. Central Command (CENTCOM) Public Affairs Office (CCPA) with the development of compelling visual content that informs and engages both internal and external audiences. These professionals will be responsible for the original design and production of visual presentations across print, web, exhibits, and briefings that reflect CENTCOM’s mission, priorities, and operational environment. This role is ideal for visual communicators with a strong understanding of military culture, design best practices, and the ability to deliver high-quality products under tight deadlines and evolving requirements.


Key Responsibilities

Visual Design & Production

  • Design and produce original visual content for printed materials, web-based platforms, exhibits, and command briefings.
  • Ensure all products are compliant with Air Force and CENTCOM visual communication policies.
  • Use Government Furnished Equipment (GFE) or contractor-furnished equipment when necessary (contractor bears cost of non-GFE).

Strategic Coordination & Planning

  • Collaborate with CCPA leadership and staff to plan and coordinate the design of visual information products.
  • Incorporate feedback and industry best practices into all design deliverables.

Mission-Driven Design Execution

  • Evaluate mission requirements and define visual communication objectives.
  • Develop detailed project plans that align with CENTCOM’s strategic communication goals.

Conceptualization & Presentation

  • Conceptualize and present design ideas to CCPA leadership.
  • Translate complex information into visually engaging and accessible formats.

Quality Assurance & Testing

  • Test graphics across multiple media platforms to ensure consistency, clarity, and visual appeal.
  • Implement quality control measures and maintain high standards of design excellence.

Crisis & Surge Support

  • Be available to support 24/7 surge requirements during crises or unforeseen events as directed by the CCPA Director.

Deliverables

  • Coordinated visual information products incorporating feedback and best practices.
  • Evaluated mission requirements and detailed project plans.
  • Conceptualized and presented visual ideas aligned with CENTCOM objectives.
  • Quality-tested graphics with documented quality control plans.

Requirements

  • 5+ years of experience in professional graphic design, preferably in a government or military setting.
  • Must have SECRET clearance.
  • Proficiency in Adobe Creative Suite (Photoshop, Illustrator, InDesign, After Effects).
  • Strong understanding of visual design principles, typography, color theory, and layout.
  • Familiarity with CENTCOM’s mission, structure, and AOR.
  • Ability to manage multiple projects and meet tight deadlines in a high-tempo environment.
  • Excellent communication and presentation skills.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Experience supporting Combatant Command or DoD-level public affairs operations.
  • Knowledge of Section 508 accessibility standards and digital publishing best practices.
  • Experience with motion graphics, infographics, and interactive media.
