After-School Teacher
Discovery Point Lutz – Lutz, FL
Discovery Point Lutz is looking for an enthusiastic, dependable, and caring After-School Teacher to join our team! This position is perfect for someone who enjoys working with school-age children and wants to create a fun, safe, and engaging environment where children can learn, play, and build friendships after their school day.
Responsibilities
- Supervise and ensure the safety and well-being of school-age children
- Create a positive, welcoming, and engaging classroom environment
- Plan and lead age-appropriate activities, games, arts and crafts, and enrichment experiences
- Assist children with homework and school assignments when needed
- Encourage positive social interactions, teamwork, and respectful behavior
- Provide opportunities for indoor and outdoor play
- Maintain a clean, organized, and safe classroom
- Build positive relationships with children and their families
- Communicate effectively with parents regarding their child's day
- Follow all center policies, safety procedures, and state childcare regulations
- Work collaboratively with other teachers and administration
- Help create a fun and memorable experience for children in our after-school program
Qualifications
- Previous experience working with school-age children preferred
- Childcare, teaching, camp, tutoring, or youth-program experience is a plus
- High school diploma or equivalent
- Must be dependable, responsible, and energetic
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills
- Ability to work as part of a team
- Must enjoy working with children and have a positive attitude
- Must meet Florida childcare employment requirements
Schedule
Part-time, after-school hours
Monday–Friday, with additional hours available during school breaks, holidays, and summer camp.
