Position Summary

We are looking for a dependable and detail-oriented Slotter Machine Operator to join our production team. In this role, you will safely set up and operate PVC slotting equipment to produce high-quality parts that meet precise specifications and quality standards.

The ideal candidate takes pride in their work, enjoys working in a fast-paced manufacturing environment, and is committed to safety, accuracy, and teamwork.


Core Responsibilities

  • Set up and adjust slotting blades, guides, clamps, and feed mechanisms according to production specifications. 
  • Configure machine settings including slot depth, spacing, rotation speed, and feed rates based on work orders and production drawings. 
  • Operate PVC slotting machinery safely and efficiently while monitoring performance and making adjustments as needed. 
  • Perform quality inspections to verify slot width, depth, spacing, straightness, and overall finish using calipers, gauges, and measuring tools. 
  • Load PVC materials into the machine and maintain smooth, consistent material flow throughout production. 
  • Accurately record production counts, scrap, completed batches, and inspection results. 
  • Identify and report defects such as burn marks, burrs, chatter, misalignment, or inconsistent slot depth. 
  • Perform routine machine cleaning and basic maintenance, including replacing dull blades and removing PVC shavings. 
  • Report mechanical issues or equipment concerns promptly to leadership or maintenance. 
  • Follow all company safety procedures, including lockout/tagout practices and proper PPE usage. 
  • Maintain a clean, organized, and safe work environment. 

Qualifications

Education & Experience

  • High school diploma or GED preferred but not required. 
  • Previous manufacturing, machine operation, warehouse, or production experience preferred. 
  • Prior leadership or team lead experience is a plus. 

Skills & Abilities

  • Strong attention to detail and commitment to quality. 
  • Mechanical aptitude with the ability to troubleshoot and adjust equipment. 
  • Ability to use measuring tools such as calipers, rulers, and gauges accurately. 
  • Basic math skills including addition, subtraction, multiplication, and division. 
  • Strong organizational and recordkeeping skills. 
  • Ability to read and follow written instructions and procedures. 
  • Problem-solving skills and the ability to work independently with minimal supervision. 
  • Ability to communicate effectively and work well as part of a team. 
  • Understanding of PVC material handling and cutting characteristics is helpful, but not required. 

Physical Requirements

  • Regularly required to stand, walk, bend, and use hands throughout the shift. 
  • Ability to lift, move, and handle materials as needed. 
  • Ability to work in a manufacturing environment around machinery and production equipment.
