Job Objective: Responsible for emergency assistance casework, food pantry, assisting in fund-raising and seasonal programs.Â

Essential Functions:Â
- Set appointments with clients as neededÂ
- Handle all incoming and outgoing mailÂ
- Answer phone, talk with clients, donors and general public in personÂ
- Interview clients and cover intakes on all assistance request following the guidelinesÂ
- Assist with community food drivesÂ
- Create and maintain all client files while adhering to confidentiality standardsÂ
- Track referrals to other agenciesÂ
- Complete monthly statistical report and submit by the first of each monthÂ
- Manage the food pantry Â
- Manage the school supply programÂ
- Other duties as assigned by County Coordinator and North KS Field RepresentativeÂ

Minimum Qualifications:Â
Education: Minimum high school education, some post-secondary education preferred Â
Â
Experience:Â Business/office work, volunteer organization and supervision, casework preferredÂ
Â
Certifications/Licenses:Â NoneÂ

Skills/Abilities:Â Â
- Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and employee manualsÂ
- Ability to write routine reports and paperworkÂ
- Ability to effectively present information to customers, clients and employees in one-on-one and small group settingsÂ
- Ability to speak and understand Spanish and English in a manner that is sufficient for effective communication with othersÂ
- Ability to add, subtract, multiply and divide in basic units of measure, using whole numbers, common fractions and decimalsÂ

Supervisory Duties: Assist overseeing and directing community volunteers. Carry out supervisory responsibilities in accordance with Salvation Army policies and applicable laws.Â

Physical Requirements: Include speaking, hearing, vision; sitting, walking, standing for extended periods of time, bending, squatting, climbing, kneeling, and twisting on an intermittent or occasional continuous basis; grasping, pushing, pulling, lifting objects up to 50 lbs.; traveling by airplane; both outdoor and indoor navigation of settings. Reasonable accommodation may be made to enable individuals to perform the essential functions of this job. Â

Working Conditions: Daily work is performed in a typical office environment; may require some weekend and evening work. Event work may include indoor/outdoor locations and other public venues.Â
