Job Description

This position exists in order to meet behavioral health/mental health therapy clinical service needs for the Center for Rural Behavioral Health at the Rural Behavioral Health Clinic. This position will provide mental health counseling and other mental health programming, as well as provide instruction and clinical supervision for student interns from social work, counseling, psychology and other related disciplines from Minnesota State University, Mankato and other colleges and universities as applicable.

This position has been designated as weather and emergency essential. In the event of a short-term University closure or emergency event, incumbent is required to report to work and respond as requested. Minimum Qualifications

  • Master’s Degree in counseling (or related field)
  • Current LPCC or LMFT in Minnesota
  • BBHT and/or MFT board-approved clinical supervisor status or eligible to supervise graduate student interns
  • Two years of providing mental health therapy post-licensure
  • Demonstrated commitment to positive and collaborative workplace environment
  • Demonstrated commitment to culturally relevant and inclusive practices

Preferred Qualification 

  • Demonstrated commitment to fostering a diverse working and learning environment
  • Additional licensure or eligible LADC
  • Knowledge of and experience utilizing the DC:0–5™ Diagnostic Classification of Mental Health and Developmental Disorders of Infancy and Early Childhood
  • Registered Play Therapist (RPT) credential or actively pursuing credentialing with eligibility to obtain registration
  • Experience providing mental health assessment and evidence-based therapy services to children and adolescents
  • Five years of providing mental health therapy
  • Experience supervising graduate student interns
  • Experience in program development

This position requires a valid, applicable driver’s license, as well as a DVS records check with an acceptable rating. This position requires a passing background check under Minnesota Statutes 299C.60 to 299C.64 – Minnesota Child Protection Background Check Act. It is expected that the employee maintains the ability to pass applicable background check throughout employment. It is the employee’s responsibility to notify the supervisor no later than the beginning of your next shift of any charges, allegations, convictions that may impact their standing under the applicable background check.
