About the Role:

The Accounting Manager in our manufacturing company plays a pivotal role in overseeing the financial health and integrity of the organization. This position is responsible for managing the accounting team, ensuring accurate and timely financial reporting, and maintaining compliance with regulatory standards. The Accounting Manager will lead budgeting, forecasting, and financial analysis efforts to support strategic decision-making and operational efficiency. They will collaborate closely with cross-functional departments to optimize financial processes and controls. Ultimately, this role ensures that the company’s financial practices support sustainable growth and profitability within the manufacturing sector.

Minimum Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field.
  • Minimum of 5 years of progressive accounting experience, including at least 2 years in a supervisory or managerial role.
  • Strong knowledge of Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (GAAP) and financial reporting standards.
  • Proficiency with accounting software and Microsoft Excel.
  • Experience working within or supporting the manufacturing industry’s financial operations.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Certified Public Accountant (CPA) or Certified Management Accountant (CMA) designation.
  • Experience with ERP systems commonly used in manufacturing, such as SAP or Oracle.
  • Advanced skills in financial modeling and data analysis.
  • Familiarity with cost accounting and inventory management principles.
  • Demonstrated ability to lead process improvement initiatives within accounting functions.

Responsibilities:

  • Lead and supervise the daily operations of the accounting department, including accounts payable, accounts receivable, general ledger, and payroll.
  • Prepare, review, and analyze monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements to ensure accuracy and compliance with GAAP and company policies.
  • Coordinate and manage the budgeting and forecasting processes, providing insights and recommendations to senior management.
  • Ensure compliance with federal, state, and local financial regulations and tax filings specific to the manufacturing industry.
  • Develop and implement internal controls and procedures to safeguard company assets and improve financial reporting efficiency.
  • Collaborate with external auditors during audits and provide necessary documentation and explanations.
  • Support cross-departmental initiatives by providing financial data analysis and reporting to drive operational improvements.
