Job Summary:
The Department Manager is responsible for overseeing daily operations within a designated production area, ensuring safety, quality, and efficiency standards are met. This role provides leadership to department employees, drives continuous improvement, and supports production goals through effective planning, communication, and problem-solving.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Supervise daily operations within the assigned department to meet production targets.
  • Lead, coach, and develop employees, including training, performance feedback, and scheduling.
  • Ensure all safety policies, procedures, and compliance standards are followed at all times.
  • Monitor product quality and coordinate with quality teams to resolve issues promptly.
  • Maintain accurate production records, reports, and department documentation.
  • Collaborate with maintenance, HR, and other departments to support smooth operations.
  • Identify and implement process improvements to enhance productivity and reduce downtime.
  • Manage workflow, allocate resources, and adjust staffing as needed to meet deadlines.
  • Address employee concerns professionally and maintain a positive work environment.
  • Participate in meetings, planning sessions, and continuous improvement initiatives.

Qualifications:

  • Previous experience in manufacturing or production leadership required.
  • Strong communication, organizational, and problem-solving skills.
  • Ability to lead teams and manage multiple tasks in a fast-paced environment.
  • Knowledge of safety and quality procedures within a manufacturing setting.
  • Basic computer proficiency for reports, scheduling, and documentation.
