Material Handling Technicians are responsible for the effective management and movement of materials and products in warehouses and other storage facilities. They ensure that materials are received, stored, and shipped efficiently while maintaining safety standards and inventory accuracy. The position often involves operating forklifts, pallet jacks, and other equipment, requiring a blend of technical skills and a commitment to safety.
Material Handling Technician Responsibilities & Duties
  • Operate forklifts and other material handling equipment safely and efficiently
  • Receive and inspect incoming materials and products
  • Store materials in designated areas following organizational procedures
  • Pick and prepare orders for shipment
  • Maintain accurate inventory records and perform regular stock counts
  • Ensure cleanliness and organization of the work area
  • Assist in loading and unloading trucks and containers
  • Follow safety regulations and protocols to minimize risks of injury
  • Report any discrepancies in inventory or damage to materials
  • Collaborate with other team members to improve efficiency and processes
Material Handling Technician Qualifications & Skills
  • Experience working in a warehouse or manufacturing environment
  • Knowledge of inventory management systems
  • Certifications in material handling or forklift operation
  • Familiarity with safety regulations and best practices
  • Strong communication and teamwork skills
