Overview

The position of Operator 1's primary function is to keep the facility clean in order to eliminate safety and fire hazards. The individual in this position will work in the Planer and regularly perform the following tasks: general facility clean up including picking up slabs, sticks, sawdust, chips off lower mill floors, and assist with dust mitigation.

Shift Schedule: 

 

This position has an hourly rate of $23.34-$29.31 ($48,547 - $60,964 annually) which does not include any applicable shift differential. Production bonuses are possible for every employee each month, based on the plant site’s target goals.

Responsibilities

  • Practice safe work habits and comply with all company work and safety standards
  • Keep sawmill/planer clean – areas include basement, walkways, chipper and etc.
  • Pick up slabs, sticks, sawdust, and chips off lower mill floors
  • Assist with dust mitigation
  • Good communication skills through writing, speech and hearing
  • Follow company lockout policies
  • Notify supervisor of any problems that might arise
  • Be willing to train at machine centers
  • Help relieve for breaks and lunches
  • Apply good housekeeping standards to your work area or any area you observe
