The VP & General Manager will have oversight of the day-to-day functions and strategic operations of the Site to ensure optimal performance across all departments. This operational oversight will include facility and manufacturing operations.This position involves managing resources, ensuring operational efficiency, and maintaining high standards of safety and compliance. The ideal candidate will possess a blend of technical expertise, leadership skills, and the ability to adapt to dynamic environments. As the VP and General Manager, you will play a key role in developing, implementing, and driving strategies and operational excellence to achieve organizational short and long-term goals.

  • Provide strategic Site Head leadership and guidance to functions reporting to the position.

  • Clearly communicate corporate and functional goals, and direct activities across Operations functions to focus resources and organizational priorities.

  • Ensure that production, planning, inventory control and distribution are synchronized with Sales and Marketing projections.

  • Operate functions in a fiscally responsible manner, and develop financial and capital improvement plans to support corporate and functional goals.

  • Participate in the development of corporate objectives and long-range goals of the organization. Plan strategic and tactical activities to achieve these goals.

  • Ensure that a cGMP environment is maintained and that Production personnel are knowledgeable of cGMP requirements.

  • Provide input in developing the Strategic Operating Plan and manage the execution of plans and associated budget within the Manufacturing group.

  • Lead contract negotiation activities for manufacturing operations.

  • Ensure the site meets budgeted financial goals and objectives through new sales and marketing strategies, and operational strategies.

  • Provide technical support to improve productivity and reduce costs while maintaining high levels of quality.

  • Support overall Quality Operations with a focus on compliance and continuous improvement.

  • Serve as the primary point of contact with third-party collaborators, vendors, and

  • Ensure support of due diligence activities during evaluation of potential partnership interface with internal research groups.

  • Assure the highest quality of finished goods as well as value-added services; strive to provide each client with the most efficient, data-driven project and the highest quality work to support drug development and manufacturing.

  • Assure customer satisfaction; deliver services to each client in alignment with the approved contract and relevant documents, using good business practices and policies. In the event of an error, resolve issues in a timely and quality-focused manner.

  • Participate in customer visits and FDA/DEA inspections.

MINIMUM EDUCATION, EXPERIENCE, SKILLS

  • B.S., M.S., or Ph.D. Degree or equivalent preferably in pharmaceutical sciences, engineering, biochemical or other related field.

  • Minimum 15 years in pharmaceutical or other GMP related industry with a minimum of 10 years devoted to Operations management including preparation and control of departmental budgets.

  • Strong experience in strategic management, planning and execution.

  • Must possess solid leadership skills and the ability to develop departmental leaders through coaching and mentoring.

  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.

  • Skills in examining and re-engineering operations and procedures.

  • Ability to offer solutions to emerging problems and anticipate and respond to the needs of internal/external clients.

  • Experience in formulating, developing and implementing new strategies and

  • procedures.

  • Ability to manage multiple departments and buildings and relationships, and strategically plan and lead teams toward corporate objectives/results.  

  • Ability to assess and negotiate contracts.

  • Organizational skills that demonstrate experience in setting up and maintaining tracking systems and/or databases. Able to prioritize and plan work activities, uses time efficiently and develops realistic action plan.

  • FDA regulatory audit experience.
